Our Pastor

Reverend T. L. Alston is a well-respected minister of music, traveling minister in the AME Zion Church, and now pastor of the St. Paul AME Zion Church in Salisbury, Maryland. He began his ministry singing and playing in Zion at the tender age of ten. He is an accomplished musician who mixes the rich traditions of the Zion church with a contemporary nuance that inspires saints of all generations. Although music is his inspiration, God had other plans. During his sophomore year at Livingstone College, he accepted God’s will for his life and answered the call to preach.  

Reverend Alston delivered his initial sermon on June 10, 2012 and was licensed a Local Preacher during the 2012 Wilmington District Conference. Since then, he has not looked back and he continues to use his gifts to edify the Kingdom of God.

On May 7, 2016 Reverend Alston earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Liberal Arts from Livingstone College. He was ordained a Deacon in the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church on March 10, 2018, and subsequently ordained an Elder on March 9, 2019. Reverend Alston is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity degree with a concentration in Preaching and Worship at Hood Theological Seminary. In 2025, he was honored with induction into the Bishop Alfred G. Dunston College of Preachers.

In addition to his academic and ministerial formation, Reverend Alston faithfully serves on the Board of Admissions for both the Eastern Shore District and the Philadelphia–Baltimore Annual Conference. He is also an active member of the Watchmen with One Voice Ministerial Alliance, which provides spiritual covering and collaborative ministry throughout Wicomico, Somerset, and Dorchester counties.

Reverend Alston stands firmly on his favorite scripture, knowing that no matter the obstacles he faces in life, as Romans 8:28.
